Tracey Hawkins is the author of children’s books, adult nonfiction works, presenter and reviewer.
She has lived in the Australian Capital Territory since 1983, where she worked as a policewoman with the Australian Federal Police Force and raised a family. Tracey has worked as a crime writing advisor, columnist and consultant. Her crime writing articles were incorporated into the ACJ Crime Writing Course. Tracey has won awards for her children’s picture book Nancy Bentley The First Australian Female Sailor and was shortlisted for Speech Pathology Australia Book of the Year Awards 2012. Tracey’s latest publication Canberra—Federal Capital was released by Walker Books Australia in November 2013.
She is currently working on her first novel for young adults.
